The toolbox

Ask for a design. Get boards you can mark up.

With a canvas open, a prompt becomes a design request. The agent draws its ideas as boards, a revision at a time, and you answer by drawing on them.

Canvas

Ask, and it draws

While a canvas is open, the project's fields carry a Canvas chip and ask what to design. Send a prompt and the agent writes its ideas as boards, a page each, named like R3A · Cards. A board being saved redraws on the spot, edged in blue.

Canvas

Every revision kept

Each prompt is a new revision: R1, R2, R3, a row each, the oldest at the top. Earlier boards are never changed, so you can compare where it started with where it is. Zoom and pan like any design tool, or Fit to see them all.

Canvas

Answer by drawing on it

Annotate puts a pen, sticky notes and numbered comments on the boards, in four colors. When you send, the agent gets a picture of each board you marked with your notes and comments.

Canvas

Share it with a link

Publish makes a secret link anyone can open without signing in. It stays live: every board the agent saves shows there. Share the newest revision or all of them, let it expire in 7 or 30 days or never, and unpublish whenever you like.

And also

The small things.

Just say it

Write “design it” or “wireframe it” with no canvas open, and the chip is added and the canvas opens when you send.

As many as you need

A project can have several canvases, each in a tab named after its first board. Drag one to another project in the sidebar to move it.

Plain files in your project

Boards are HTML files in the project's .grenade/canvas folder, kept out of git for you. Show in Finder is in the ⋯ menu.

Talk without it

Take the chip off a field and that prompt goes to the agent as an ordinary one.

Its status says so

A session working on the canvas says Designing, not Working.

Every link in one place

File › Published Links… lists every link you made, with Copy, a new address, Show in Finder and Unpublish.
Your agent

No plugin, no extra tool

The canvas works with the agent you already run. The Mac app adds a few lines to your prompt saying where the canvas is and which revision this is, and the agent writes the boards there as files. Grenade only reads the folder.

Questions

Before you open it.

Which agents can draw on it?

The agent in the session you send from. The Mac app tells it where to write in the prompt, so nothing is installed into the agent.

Where are the boards kept?

In your project, as HTML files under .grenade/canvas, one folder per canvas. They are kept out of git for you.

Does a published link change when the agent draws more?

It follows the canvas: every board saved shows on the link, and with Newest revision it moves on to each new revision.

Who can open a published link?

Anyone you give it to; it needs no account. It is not listed anywhere, and Unpublish stops it.

Are my marks saved?

Not yet. Notes and drawings last while the Mac app is open; send them to the agent to keep what they say.
